Hello Dick, it's Kal. I just wanted to check on you and the team, I hope all of them are doing alright. Things are getting kind of crazy lately so I'd like to hear about all of you?
[Dick strongly doubts that they're from the same universe. But no way in hell he's raining on Kyle's parade. One universe was enough. 'A spark of hope in the 52 worlds.']
Maybe it'll work out the same way where I'm from.
So if you're happy, why are you drunk?
[He never quite got that with adults.
And he's slightly worried. He can't quite pinpoint why.]
[He hears it. It's not that Dick's never dealt with drunk adults before, but Kyle is way different from some wasted rich guy at a Wayne Enterprises function.]
Hey, maybe you'll actually join the League in my world. It's a lot cooler than the one in yours, trust me.
[He'll keep it light, even if he's a tad worried. Kyle deserves happiness. Even if Dick thinks it's a bittersweet kind of happy.]
Your secret's safe with me. If you need something for the headache, I've got some 'aspirin'.
[It was funny. All the times Zatanna had stared at that little communication device Batman'd given her, and it never dawned on her that she might actually be able to use it to call anyone else. When realization hit her, she actually smacked her own forehead. Duh.]
[Of course, that didn't mean she was completely sure as to how, leaving her voice slightly less confident than usual when she eventually turned it on and held it up to her lips.]
['Also, I'd sort of forgotten about it until now.']
Just outside my apartment. [Secluded enough that they could still have some privacy while away from the potential of certain individuals invading said privacy.] Say...twenty minutes from now?
[Zatanna woke up to one of the greatest headaches of her life. A dull, aching throb that seemed to spread across her entire head. It was enough to want to get her to call in sick for the day. Well, figuratively speaking. There was really nobody to call in this situation. Which would have made the whole situation almost bearable, had it not been for one major detail:]
[The headache? A side effect of more than thirteen months' worth of memories suddenly coming back to her in a flash of mental pictures and aural memories.]
[When the realization hit her, she sat up with a start. Gasping.]
Oh, no...
[AUDIO]
Dick? It's me.
I...I remember now. Everything. I'm so sorry. Please don't be mad. I don't--
[A pause on her end. She sounded close to tears there for a moment. Which might explain the lack of video function.]
I'm in my room. Call me back when you're awake. Please.
[At the door, there’s a crate, glowing a faint green, the Corps insignia emblazoned on it. When touched it emits a quiet whirr, that of a scanner, the AI announces VERIFIED. GRAYSON, RICHARD., and promptly floats into the living room, where the glow vanishes. Inside, there’s rows of bottles with variously coloured liquids. Juices!]

Thought you might want to try some. If you find any you like, I'll make more. I've got a lot of the stuff.

Thanks.

We're doing alright. Working out a game plan for our own investigation.
How about you?

The rest of the team is alright as well then?

Is something wrong?

Dick! Dick. You won't believe this. Well - I didn't believe it, I don't actually know if you will.
[He takes a few deep breaths, laughs again.]
There's a universe out there where they all live. [He falls silent abruptly, and then laughs again.] They're alive, Dick. And I get my ring. And—
[I never thought that would happen, that the day would come.]
How awesome is that! No, no, wait. I'll tell you! It's the most... awesomest!
[Then he dissolves into laughter that, occasionally, sounds like he's trying not to cry at the same time.]
voice
At least it's good news? Though... Dick wonders about how true it is.]
That definitely is the awesomest. Who told you?
no subject
[He coughs.]
It sounds pretty similar to yours... even better!
no subject
Maybe it'll work out the same way where I'm from.
So if you're happy, why are you drunk?
[He never quite got that with adults.

no subject
[You won't let me down.]
I'm not drunk! M'totally fine.
no subject
I know. I just hope you'll get to be a GL too.
[Amused:] Right. I think you'll say something different when I replay this for you tomorrow.
no subject
[He laughs again, and then there's a noise that does sound like a choked sob.]
Crap. What d'you know, blood-alcohol level is way above regulation.
['but this is the best news I've had in a long time']
Don't tell John.

[A pause.]
You could leave it on the window. M'at home now.

[He's... actually not entirely good with kids anyway. Not bad but, well, having a short childhood makes it hard to relate to them.]
Do you want company?
no subject
[Lucid enough to know he doesn't want Dick to see him like this.]
See you... in the morning...
no subject
[He's never been hungover but it always seemed rather uncomfortable.]
na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-BATCELL
[Of course, that didn't mean she was completely sure as to how, leaving her voice slightly less confident than usual when she eventually turned it on and held it up to her lips.]
...Robin? Are you there?
no subject
So, he's surprised to hear it ring and even more surprised when he hears who it is.]
Yeah. What's up, Zatanna?
no subject
Are you free to meet somewhere right now? I want to ask you something.
no subject
Yeah. Where?
no subject
Relax, Robin. Nothing's wrong.
Or do you really think I need to have an emergency as an excuse to see you?
no subject
Anyway, when and were?
no subject
['Also, I'd sort of forgotten about it until now.']
Just outside my apartment. [Secluded enough that they could still have some privacy while away from the potential of certain individuals invading said privacy.] Say...twenty minutes from now?
no subject
I can do that.
no subject
Then I'll see you in twenty.
Early Wednesday Morning
[The headache? A side effect of more than thirteen months' worth of memories suddenly coming back to her in a flash of mental pictures and aural memories.]

Room has been sealed with forcefield for protection until she wakes up. Hangover cure in kitchen but would prefer she learns lesson.
