( jason gets it. he pulls the same shit: covering insecurities with jokes. and he knows damn well that dick isn't perfect. that he struggles, too. whether or not that's what this is doesn't matter: jason's got enough experience being fucked over by adults who refused to express affection, he's not going to be one of them. he knows what it feels like to be replaced. )

ace is lonely, he doesn't have people here

[ Dick doesn't reply for a few minutes. He's not used to people noticing and calling him out, even indirectly. It's not upsetting, just... strange. Bruce is brilliant but not exactly an expert at dealing with teenagers, and he has a tendency to just let Dick handle things on his own. He's not sure what to do with his insecurities being an open secret, at least around some people.

So he does what he does best. He just sets it aside and ignores it. :) ]

so what's he like? aside from being lonely and fond of explosives
